Follow-up report Essen Motor Show 2021 with championship celebration of the touring car legends / DTM classic

After 2020 and many related failures due to corona, the motorsport season in the classic motorsport sector 2021 is now over. We are still a long way from the previous stand – before Corona – but in any case, some events that we participated in were able to take place.
We were able to contest a few races with our Opel Astra TS200 from the 1994 South African Touring Car Championship. Team boss and driver Steffan Irmler won class 4 of the super touring cars in the Touring Car Legends / DTM Classic.
Ronny Melkus, who stood in for Steffan at the last run at the Norisring, came in third.
The main purpose of the races was to test our one-piece, forged IRMLER RACING RIMS and to demonstrate their performance, stated Steffan Irmler, Managing Director of Irmler GmbH. Our OPEL Astra, driven by Mike Briggs in the South African runner-up in 1994, is equipped with these.
In the coming year, too, we want to be active at various events, present our rims and our service on site and of course again show classic racing touring cars from the 80s and 90s with our rims. We’ll soon reveal where and at which events we’re going to be on our website!
